Mediocre food. Ordered a combo plate, broccoli chix and fried rice were good, wonton and sweet sour chix not so great. Price was decent, but the connecting bar is a dump. Would go elsewhere for a Chinese meal.
Ive been here twice so far and will be back. This as an old run down place with lots of character. The Chinese food is amazing! I'm from the bay area and have sampled a plethora of Chinese food and my boyfriend and I agree this is the best. The vegetables are fresh and not overcooked the sauces have fresh ingredients like ginger. Yummy! It is a strange atmosphere which I enjoy. The resteraunt is very cartoon like and brightly colored all the decorations look like they are from the 50's. The charming old man and smily lady seem to be the cooks and they know what they're doing! There is an adjoining bar that is also a Clampers clubhouse. The scene is a hoot! I dont drink so its odd to have a view of the bar but it doesn't seem to rowdy. This isn't a date night place but great for friends who arnt yuppies and like something off the beaten path. Don't expect new state of the art decor and amenities but enjoy a fun scene and amazing food. Tip* Let them know if you want your vegetables ect crispy or mushy... I guess there's alot old folks around here with no teeth that like mushy food. I do not! They are happy to cook it how you like it though.. the nice old man who served our food explained this to us.
In the past few months, the food (which was called in to pick up) hasn't been completely cooked. We used to love it, but the last 3 orders, even the chow mein noodles were hard and really white. These orders weren't during "busy hours" and weren't going to be picked up quickly, so there's no reason for under (and uncooked) food. My rating is on the last 3 orders. It was better before.
Surprisingly fresh and delicious lunch. Enjoyed the pleasant staff and the food was well priced.
